Tinyclave

The Glass Mini Reactor For Safe Small Scale Experiments Under Pressure

Tinyclave is the name of our new miniature laboratory autoclave. It allows the user to conduct and observe chemical reactions in aqueous and organic media at pressure levels up to 10 bar and temperatures up to 150o C.

The Tinyclave is of simple design with emphasis on safety. Its main components are:

  • The glass reactor, available in two sizes: 10 ml and 25 ml.
  • The holder for the glass reactor with a cage which provides ideal protection against fragments - all stainless steel.
  • The closure with easily replaced integrated bursting disc. An O-ring seals the closure, available in Viton or Kalrez.

Stirring

A magnetic stirrer or a laboratory stirrer with a drill type chuck can be used to agitate the contents.

Safety Due To Integrated Bursting Disc

The maximum allowable pressure of 10 bar must not be exceeded in the Tinyclave. The pressure to be sustained by the glass reactor must therefore be estimated prior to each experiment.

Two FEP rupture discs are available:

Safety With Glass Reactors

The bursting pressure of our undamaged glass reactors is a multiple of the maximum allowable working pressure of the reactors.

Two Different Reactor Volumes

Glass reactors with useful volumes of 10 and 25 ml are available. They can be replaced quickly and easily

On a slightly larger scale, the Miniclave is available in volumes of 100 or 200 ml with or without a magnetic coupling.
