Wiped Film Distillation with External Condenser
In a wiped film evaporator, the plant evaporator and condenser are two separate components connected by nozzles for vapour transfer. The vacuum pump
system is connected to the condenser. The ultimate pressure of this design is limited to some mbars by the pressure drop through the connection between evaporator and condenser. Even a larger suction
capacity of the vacuum pump set will not lower the pressure in the evaporator. This limitation is caused by the conductance of the connecting pipe.
