Gas Scrubbers

Compact Gas Scrubbers

Our compact gas scrubbers are simple in design and can be used for many air and exhaust cleanup tasks.  They can handle corrosive exhaust gases from small scale chemical plants, such as our ChemReactors and are ideal for studies and scale up of gas scrubber systems.

They can be incorporated into the frame of a a ChemReactor or supplied either free standing or mounted on wheels.

Advantages include:

  • Good corrosion resistance
  • Low profile construction
  • Compatibility with our glass equipment
  • Visibility of scrubbing process
  • Versatility
  • High performance
  • Customised design

Principle

The exhaust for treatment first flows through the round flask and then upward through the absorption column.  The scrubbing liquid is pumped from the round flask to the head of the column by a pump, then flows through the absorption column in countercurrent to the exhaust, thus absorbing the substance to be removed from the exhaust gas.  The scrubbing liquid can be cooled by the integral product cooler.

Options Include:

  • Raschig rings or structured packing
  • pH and temperature measurement
  • Column sizes from DN70 to DN600
